AISV administers government funding and manages Specific Purpose programs for Victoria’s 210 independent schools.

Government programs

In February 2005, AISV signed an agreement with the Australian Government for the 2005-2008 funding period – to administer Targeted programs Funding for all Victorian independent schools.

The Australian Government provided $15.8 million in 2004 for Specific Purpose programs and the Victorian Government contributed $1.2 million. AISV administered the funds taking into account:

  • Commonwealth programs for Schools Quadrennial Administrative Guidelines 2001 to 2004
  • Program aims set by the Australian Government
  • Victorian Government initiatives
  • Policy directions set by the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs
  • The National Goals for Schooling.
