VELS Familiarisation and Auditing

Curriculum Planning Guidelines have been developed by DE&T to assist schools by providing a curriculum planning model that supports a whole-school approach to curriculum planning.

Tools may be discussion questions, workshop activities, PowerPoint presentations or planning templates. Readings are also provided.

These modules developed by DE&T offer learning activities, resources and notes, samples and stories, that will support the

continued development, strengthening and refinement of understandings that underpin effective curriculum planning.                           

Exploring VELS Critical Friend Consultancy

Schools may apply for access to an education consultant who will provide critical friend support to the school’s curriculum/teaching/learning leadership team for a fixed period of time. Costs for the education consultant are met through financial support by the Department of Education and Training.

Progression points developed by DE&T will assist teachers in making on balance judgments about student progress towards a standard for the purposes of reporting to parents and curriculum planning.
