National Goals for Schooling

The Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) comprises State, Territory and Australian Government Ministers of Education. In April 1999, the council endorsed the Adelaide Declaration on National Goals for Schooling in the Twenty-First Century.

National initiatives

Information on the National Goals plus material on other educational initiatives including the nationally consistent curriculum statements in English, Mathematics, Science, Civics and Citizenship and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is available on the MCEETYA website.

The Federal Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) nominates national curriculum priorities that are considered in curriculum planning by AISV Member Schools.

The Department of Education, Science and Training and the Government Education Portal are both useful resources.

National Projects

Australian Parents Council (APC)

Federal Department of Education, Science & Training (DEST), in collaboration with other key stakeholders throughout education and the community.

This resource provides suggestions for strategies or approaches that can be used to develop family-school partnerships.
