National Goals for Schooling The Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) comprises State, Territory and Australian Government Ministers of Education. In April 1999, the council endorsed the Adelaide Declaration on National Goals for Schooling in the Twenty-First Century. |
National initiatives Information on the National Goals plus material on other educational initiatives including the nationally consistent curriculum statements in English, Mathematics, Science, Civics and Citizenship and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is available on the MCEETYA website. The Federal Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) nominates national curriculum priorities that are considered in curriculum planning by AISV Member Schools. The Department of Education, Science and Training and the Government Education Portal are both useful resources. National Projects Family Schools Partnership Project This project to develop a National Framework to assist and support effective Family - Schools Partnerships across the country is a joint initiative by: Australian Council of State School Organisations (ACSSO) Australian Parents Council (APC) Federal Department of Education, Science & Training (DEST), in collaboration with other key stakeholders throughout education and the community. This resource provides suggestions for strategies or approaches that can be used to develop family-school partnerships. Success for Boys is a $19.4 million Australian Government initiative that aims to help schools improve boys' learning outcomes and engagement nationally, by providing teachers with access to high quality professional learning. Second round funding applications are now available for help and more information, call (03) 9207 9600 or email successforboys@curriculum.edu.au The Values Education website is a dynamic portal for Australian school communities to find out more about the Australian Government's Values Education initiatives. All schools are invited to apply for the Values Education Good Practice grants to schools project. Applications for this funding can be submitted via an online application form available on the website.
