Making Active Connections reports on activities and projects undertaken in the independent sector that make real contributions to the lives of others in the community.

Students, their families and staff at AISV Member Schools contribute their time, expertise and resources to community projects. A school-community relationship adds value to local projects and reinforces the role of the school as a vital part of the community.
Projects undertaken by schools:

• encourage generosity and a culture of giving
• broaden students’ understanding of community needs
• develop purpose through participation
• encourage teamwork
• connect schools and students with their communities.

There are two ways to locate a MAC project. You can either search for it by its category, or you can see which project/s each school has been involved with.

AISV Making Active Connections publication

AISV has published Making Active Connections - Community Service in Independent Schools a publication based on research into the effects of student volunteering and community services. School case studies are featured throughout the publication, highlighting the important role independent schools play in contributing to their community, both locally and internationally.
