AISV Annual Art Exhibition and Arts Program

The AISV Arts and Exhibitions program continues to celebrate the achievement of our students through both the visual and performing arts.

On 23 June 2009, our annual Art exhibition was opened by Mr Steve Herbert, the parliamentary secretary for education. The exhibition is a survey of work from 15 of our Member Schools from across the state and contains nearly 200 pieces of work in a variety of media. The exhibition highlights the talents of our students and the excellent educational programs being offered in our schools. It also examines how the arts can provide a personal commentary on the emerging culture of our students and become a defining statement of a highly individual and creative nature.

Participating Member Schools represented in this exhibition are:

  • Alphington Grammar
  • Ballarat Clarendon College
  • Ballarat Grammar
  • Beaconhills College
  • Castlemaine Steiner School and Kindergarten
  • Christian College Geelong
  • Fintona Girls School
  • Lighthouse Christian College
  • Maharishi School
  • Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School
  • Oxley College
  • Penleigh and Essendon Grammar
  • Rossbourne School
  • St Leonards College
  • Xavier College

The opening launch also featured a fantastic performance by the students of the Huntingtower School string Quartet.

All artwork from the annual exhibition is initially shown throughout the year in the AISV offices where it is viewed by the many visitors that attend our seminars, meetings and professional development activities. The artwork is also shown in our online gallery on the AISV website where all current and past exhibitions can be accessed and viewed.

The artwork in the collection is also available for loan to corporate and community organisations for display in private office spaces, foyers and boardrooms. These short term loans enable access to an even wider viewing audience for our student artists. It also allows companies and other organisations to demonstrate their support and encouragement for the talents of these young students.

Schools wishing to participate in the Arts and Exhibitions program should contact Anne Smith, AISV Arts Program Manager, or Melinda Hargreaves, AISV Project Officer, Student Display.
