AISV’s Annual Art Exhibition opened on 11 June 2008 and continued until 6 August 2008 at Shell House, No.1 Spring Street, Melbourne. More than 130 works in a variety of media were displayed throughout the three main gallery areas of the building. All the artwork included in the annual exhibition is initially shown throughout the year in the AISV offices where it is viewed by visitors, teachers and other school representatives attending professional development courses and meetings and enjoyed by AISV staff. Student artists and their school community members are welcome to visit by appointment. The artwork is also on the AISV Online Community Art Gallery, which acts as a permanent record for all work exhibited by AISV. The business and professional world also has the opportunity to experience the work of our young artists by joining the AISV Corporate and Community Artbank, which enables companies and organisations to display students’ artwork in their foyers and boardrooms. By taking part in Artbank, they are joining with AISV in demonstrating their commitment to the encouragement and recognition of the talent of these young artists. Schools wishing to have their students work included in future exhibitions or businesses wishing to borrow art should contact either Anne Smith, Arts Program Manager, or Melinda Hargreaves, Project Officer – Student Display. |
