Free Spirits Taken too Soon

Our lives have been turned upside down with the loss of Mel and Penny Chambers ('Sisters perish saving horses', February 10).

There are so many things we will never forget - their love and compassion for every living creature, their cheeky smiles and playfulness.

Regardless of whether you had known them for 20 years or 20 minutes, simply being in their presence made you a better person.

Their love for life was infectious, and the way they lived so spontaneously showed that they were free spirits who would go where life took them, and take us all along for the wonderful ride.

Two truly beautiful people, taken from us much too soon.

Penny and Mel will be with us forever, not just in our memories, but in our hearts.

With love.

Ash, Heather, Milly, Sam, Andrew, Lauren, Danni, Andrew, Janell, Aleisha, Jono, Steph and Lauren, your friends from Plenty Valley Christian School.

Dr Ken Rowe

A Thanksgiving Service was held for Dr Ken Rowe on Tuesday 17 February 2009. Click here to read the article in The Age.

Melanee Hermocilla

The school community was deeply saddened at the tragic passing of Melanee 'Class of 2002' in the recent bushfires. Melanee was a very active member of the school who had a zest for life and learning. She was a School Prefect in Year 12.

We also extend our condolences on the death of her brother Jaeson, a past student at Brighton Grammar School. Deepest sympathy is extended to their family, particularly Fred, Grace and Shirlee.

- The Board, Principal, Staff, students and Old Grammarians of Firbank Grammar School.
