Yes, under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic.) and the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2007 (Vic.). Conditions of compliance The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) has established minimum standards in relation to schools’ accident and incident registers. If you have to comply, what do you have to do? In addition to their professional obligations, principals and teachers have a legal duty to take reasonable steps to protect students in their charge from risks of injury that are reasonably foreseeable. It is the school’s responsibility to maintain a record of all accidents and incidents. The accident and incident register should include the following details for each incident:
