Do you need to comply?
Yes, if your school receives funding to support the development and delivery of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Schools that is delivered as part of a broad general education that combines a senior secondary certificate with nationally recognised vocational education and training within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
Conditions of compliance
This program primarily provides supplementary funding for post compulsory aged students who are undertaking a senior certificate and are required to purchase delivery from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Funding is also used to support activities such as:
- The establishment of VET in Schools by schools not previously involved in its delivery
- Expanding the range and spread of VET in Schools courses
- The establishment of VET in Schools courses in new industry areas
- Increasing participation in VET in Schools by particular student groups
- Developing strategies to maintain quality standards in VET in Schools including professional development
- Increasing the focus on pathways that leads to School Based New Apprenticeships, particularly in skill shortage areas
- Addressing areas of skill shortage
Funding is based on confirmed student Year 10-12 enrolment in Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) approved courses.
If you have to comply, what do you have to do?
- Complete a yearly data collection survey which provides indicative enrolments in VCAA approved VET in Schools courses for the following year
- Confirm enrolments and sign a yearly funding agreement
- Ensure all students are enrolled in an approved senior secondary certificate
- Complete a yearly update of your school's VET strategic plan
- Complete a four year strategic plan at the start of each quadrennial funding cycle
- Ensure all AQF and RTO audit compliance measures are met for each industry area being studied/offered
- Provide data as required by the Australian Government or AISV in order to meet accountability or program requirements
- Participate in any evaluation project/s relating to the funding
- Use the funding only for the purposes of the approved projects in the calendar year specified for the approved projects
- Pay to AISV an amount equalling any unexpended grant funds within 28 days of a request by AISV or the appropriate Australian Government Minister
- Agree to the right of AISV to release funding details for schools under this program when reporting to the Australian Government and to the sector, providing that this data does not enable users of the information to identify individual students
- Agree to host visits from Australian Government and/or AISV representatives as required
- Follow the guidelines for copyright as specified by the Australian Government for this program.
What are the consequences if you don't comply?
You may be required to return any funding received.
